Recognizing outstanding health risk management among Group Captive Programs and Members 

May 29, 2026 – Hamilton, New Jersey – Berkley Accident and Health, a Berkley company, congratulates and proudly recognizes this year’s captive risk achievement honorees, who displayed outstanding health risk management efforts during 2025. Their stories may be unique but their strategies all reflect a commitment to providing affordable, high-quality employee health benefits. Recipients were announced at the 16^th annual Berkley Captive Symposium in April 2026.

These awards are the highlight of the Berkley Captive Symposium, Berkley Accident and Health’s premier member educational event. The Symposium brings together the organization’s Group Captive community to discuss innovative, proven approaches to controlling health care costs for employers and their employees.

Group Captive programs help small and midsize employers gain control, clarity, and confidence over their health risk strategy. Rather than purchasing traditional health insurance, participating businesses self-fund their benefits with Stop Loss protection and collaborate in a Group Captive structure to share risk.

Risk Achievement of the Year (RAY) Awards for Members  

RAY Award winners are selected from across Berkley Accident and Health’s portfolio and demonstrate exceptional commitment to health risk management in the prior year. In 2026, 17 winners and honorable mentions were recognized.

While each organization’s approach reflects its workforce and business needs, common initiatives include:

• Promoting preventive care, such as pre-natal care and cancer screenings
• Expanding access to on-site or near-site clinics and wellness programs
• Strengthening mental health support and resources
• Using data and analytics to identify and address population health risks
• Supporting employees in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and pulmonary disorders

Excellence in Health Risk Management Certification 

In 2026, 15 Group Captive programs earned the Excellence in Health Risk Management Certification.

To achieve certification, program sponsors must demonstrate a comprehensive and results-oriented approach to health risk management. Criteria include strong member engagement, effective use of TPAs and point solutions, leveraging scale to secure competitive pricing, coordination with Berkley Edge cost-containment services, and measurable outcomes.

Programs that meet Berkley Accident and Health’s rigorous standards are awarded the Excellence in Health Risk Management Certification.
