2020 Berkley Captive Symposium

April 26-29, 2020 | Westin Grand Cayman | Invitation-only event for Berkley captive members and brokers

Join us for the 10th annual Berkley Captive Symposium on April 26-29, 2020. This risk management conference is designed exclusively for captive members and business associates of Berkley Accident and Health. This year marks our 10th annual celebration, and it’s guaranteed to be our biggest and best Captive Symposium to date.

This educational event gathers the entire Berkley captive community — members, brokers, administrators, and program managers — for three high-energy days of learning, networking, and collaboration. Whether you are new to captives or highly experienced, you’re sure to gain new insights to apply to your business and empower you to take control.

This is an invitation-only conference, so watch your email for more details.

What to Expect from the 2020 Berkley Captive Symposium

Cutting-Edge Insights
This year, we’ve added multiple tracks in our Risk Sandbox and fresh educational sessions, including a look at the 2020 election’s impact on health care and an “Ask the Attorney” session. We’ll also have popular sessions from last year, such as our New Member Orientation and Broker Forum.

Dr. Martin “Marty” Makary
We’re pleased to welcome renowned speaker and Johns Hopkins surgeon Dr. Martin Makary, who will discuss health care innovation in a lively panel discussion. Dr. Makary is the New York Times bestselling author of The Price We Pay.

Collaboration
In the past, attendees have told us that some of the most valuable times have been connecting with the Berkley captive community. You’ll have opportunities for informal networking, as well as time to share best practices with peers and learn from each other.

What You’ll Learn

  • Innovative Risk Management Techniques
In our Risk Sandbox, you’ll learn tactics to take your self-funded risk management to the next level. We’ll have multiple breakout sessions focusing on different topics, including: cancer management, diabetes, specialty pharmaceuticals, regenerative medicine, reference based pricing, and more.
  • Informative General Sessions
You’ll also enjoy thought-provoking general sessions, including: Rx Drug Sourcing, Best Practices in Risk Management, and The Human Touch vs. Tech in Employee Benefits.
  • Cost-Containment Best Practices
Through case studies and success stories, you’ll hear how member companies are disrupting the status quo with proven cost-containment strategies.

Here’s What Attendees Said About the 2019 Symposium

“The Symposium is always a high point of the year, giving us ideas to improve our self-funded health care plan.”

HR Vice President, Captive Member
